British RAF jets carry out second airstrike

London, Dec 5 (IANS) British Royal Air Force jets carried out their second round of airstrikes against the IS in Syria, the media reported on Saturday.

Targets in the second mission were oil fields as the first target, and the mission involved two Typhoons and two Tornados, Xinhua news agency reported citing BBC.

British warplanes conducted six strikes against IS-controlled oil fields earlier on Thursday morning, just hours after MPs voted to extend bombing missions to Syria.

A vote in the House of Commons following a ten-hour debate on Wednesday evening resulted in a vote of 397 to 223 in favour of Britain bombing targets in Syria.
