Imagine this happening – you are lying fast asleep on your comfortable bed when all of a sudden there appears this ugly, huge, terrifying monster. 

-It begins to chomp at your feet.....gradually moving towards your heart
-It is ripping your head off with his hands
-It's just a matter of time.....you are dead!

You wake up in a cold sweat, realising that this terrifying incident is only a nightmare....phew! 

Sadly, this monster remains a reality for thousands of unborn babies who are never going to wake up from this nightmare as they have been aborted.  They are being annihilated from the earth even before they set foot on it! 

How come we do not consider abortion as murder?  Many of us cry ourselves hoarse to punish someone who has committed murder, with life imprisonment or the death sentence. 

Yet, we condone abortions and do not bat an eyelid to prevent someone who feels the need to abort, we wage war on terror, but is this not an act of terror where we choose death and claim the right to do so, we’d do anything to prevent someone ending our own lives, but find no harm in ending that of another living being that is helpless to resist our attack.

We'd claim that we live in a world of equal opportunities and fight for opportunities in life, -without giving an unborn child an opportunity to life?  We expect love, bonding, friendship, mercy and the like, but cannot hear the pleas of these tiny souls for a chance to live! 

Are we humans, instruments to create life or life’s destroyers?  Many may agree that we are creators as the 'magic' of science has given us the 'power'.  But think again…would you really have the power if it was not bestowed by the real creator? 

The liberal world we aspire to live in constantly wants to be pro-choice, in order to terminate unwanted pregnancies.  In our materialistic quest, children are a hurdle, an unwanted sore that has to be removed.  Added to this, we fail to realize that freedom and responsibility are two sides of the same coin. 

What options do single-mothers-to-be have in conservative societies that we hail from, that will ridicule them? 

Yes, most (barring the brave minority) would resort to a discreet quick-fix solution with or without the support of the family and avoid societal stigma.  The only exception in my mind could be abortions performed due to some life threatening illness or, complications during a pregnancy that could result in the death of the child/mother – but surely those would be a different consideration. 

Let us not be hasty but choose wisely and responsibly of all the freedoms we have, lest on judgement day, the real creator be as hasty in his decision.
