Al Ain which is also known as the ‘Oasis’ or ‘Garden city’ of the Emirates, has recently found its way into the Guinness Book of World Records by displaying hanging baskets with millions of flowers, in the shape of a huge pyramid at Al Ain Paradise.

It is a unique experience for millions of visitors who come here to see these varieties of flowers from US, Europe, Japan, Germany and Italy in different types, colours, and settings. The garden was created originally in March last year, making an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for having 2,500 baskets full of colourful flowers arranged in a fabulous manner.

Akar Landscaping Services and Agriculture who created this garden were forced to shut it down few months later when some unruly visitors stole the plants and partly destroyed the garden. The renovated garden which occupies an area of 21,000 square metres hosts about 2,968 flower baskets, apart from flower pyramids. A theatre and a meeting area have also been added to the park.

The main attraction inside the garden is a 12 metres high miniature Eiffel Tower which is illuminated with sophisticated lighting. There is also a 95 metre-long water stream which adds more attraction to the garden. It has been designed in the form of a natural rock dam where the water flows through in a circular course.

The garden now has elaborate security arrangements to prevent any destruction and also to watch over the visitors. The garden was inaugurated by Sheikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region, and the ceremony was attended by members of the Royal Family, Shaikhs, and a number of other government dignitaries.
