Car collision – Three along with BJP Corporator killed on spot
Mandya: BJP corporator Mahesh Babu along with two others died and 5 others were severely injured in a tragic road accident at Gauripura, Srirangapattana, here on July 17.
The injured have been identified as car driver Kumar (40), Suresh (38), Bhavya (28), Subhash (9) and Dhanush (4).
According to sources, on July 16, a group of 10 friends along with Mahesh Babu visited the temples in Srirangapattana and Mysuru. After visiting the temples, they stayed overnight at one of the friend’s house.
On July 17 at 6 am, Suresh Babu along with three others were on the way to Bengaluru from Mysuru by a Maruti Suzuki WagonR to attend an RSS programme. While on their way, a Swift car at Gauripura jumped the divider and crashed into Mahesh Babu’s car killing the three on the spot.
The injured have been shifted to the hospital. Two are said to be in critical condition. The DySP of Srirangapattana visited the spot.
A case has been registered in the Srirangapattana police station.
