‘Chakreshwara Parrekshitha’ marks 14th Annual day of Yakshamitraru

UAE: Yakshamitraru a dedicated organization which promotes ‘Yakshagana’, the rich and unique folk-art of Tulunadu successfully staged the famous historical play “Chakreshwara Parrekshitha” on 30 June 2016 at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai to celebrate their 14th annual day vibrantly in the presence of a mass audience in association with Precious Party and Entertainment Services.

Amateur members of Yakshamithraru every year perform Yakshagana with the main intention to preserve the traditional and ancient form of art for the generations to come. Yakshamithraru continuously training and providing the opportunity to all those who are keen and interested towards Yakshagana without any charges and motivate many more children and the young generation to participate enthusiastically.

Guest artiste Girish Rai Kakkepadav enthralled the huge audience with his unique voice and gifted talent of Bhagavathike, Adoor Ganesh Rao supported with Chende and costumes and make-up by Janardhan Perla Gangadhar D Shettigar and in maddale, Venkatesh Shastry and Laxminarayana Sharma added more colour to the show. Meantime Girish Rai Kakkepadav and Adoor Ganesh Rao were felicitated on behalf of Yakshamithraru for their contribution and dedication towards Yakshagana, with a memento and sanmana pathra.

The colourful stage setting was done by Chidanand Poojary and the team of Woodshine Carpentry. The event was hosted by Vittal Shetty and Dony Correa.

All the guest artistes from India were felicitated and honoured by Yakshamithraru for their contributions and dedication towards Yakshagana. All the artistes performed not less than any professional artistes were felicitated with a certificate. They were well trained by Shekhar Shettigar and were appreciated by a large gathering.

Dinesh Shetty Kottinje of Yakshamithraru thanked all the Yakshagana lovers for extending full support and co-operation for the grand success of “Chakreshwara Parrekshitha”.
