  1. Media reports that I.P.S. Officer, Mr. N. Harish, was from the 2009 batch and was holding the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (A.S.P.) and posted in the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, when he allegedly snuffed out his life by committing suicide. I smell a rat and something is fishy.

When anyone finishes I.P.S., he gets the probationary posting of A.S.P. (usually in the Superintendent’s Office) and within a short time or months, he is posted as Dy. S.P. Considering that he has six to seven years of service, he should have risen to the post of at least a Junior S.P. of any district in Tamil Nadu. I feel that Mr. Harish was a honest and upright officer and his superiors may have harassed him because he was not willing to blend with the system (thus compromise himself) by being a “haan jee” and he may have been a spanner-in-the-works. Therefore, he may have taken this ultimate step.

May his soul rest in peace.
