Chikkamagaluru: Soldier on Leave Ends Life – Harassment from Wife and Kin Alleged

Chikkamagaluru: C T Pradeep (36), a resident of fort extension here who was serving in the Indian army, ended his life by consuming poison on Monday night.

Attached to the Madras Regiment in Jammu and Kashmir, he had come on leave for three months recently. After resuming, he had again come down on leave on Jan 31.

The relationship between the husband and the wife had reportedly soured in the recent past. After he came on leave again, matters appeared to have turned worse.

He took the extreme step in the night. A death note written by him mentioned harassment from his wife Vidya and her parents.

The police have registered a case. His final rites were held with full military honours.
