Christmas celebrated in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Dec 25 (IANS) Midnight masses, visits to churches, setting off fire crackers, exchange of gifts and greetings marked Christmas celebrations in Tamil Nadu on Friday.

Midnight masses were held at various churches here and across the state.

Leaders, including Governor K. Rosaiah, Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa and DMK president M.Karunanidhi, conveyed their wishes to people of the Christian community.

Bakeries made brisk business selling cakes and other goodies.

Starred hotels and specialty restaurants offered special Christmas dishes.
