CM angry with MLA Bava for his Bro’s JD(S) Link

Mangaluru: During a meeting with Congress MLA’s in Bengaluru on Monday, 30 May, Chief minister Siddaramaiah came down tough on Mangaluru North MLA Moideen Bava, because his brother B M Farooq has decided to contest as a JD(S) candidate in the forthcoming Rajya Sabha (RS) polls.

In response to CMs statement, Bava said, “I am absolutely not aware of my brother’s plans in contesting on a JD(S) seat. I have been always loyal to Congress and will still continue to do so. Being a sincere Congress worker, I will always remain with Congress and work for Congress no matter whatever the consequences are. My brother’s decision is his will, and I don’t have any control over him. I also don’t intervene in his political activities- so there is no need for CM to get upset on me in this issue”

But MLA Bava’s comments didn’t convince CM Siddaramaiah, instead he hit back at Bava saying “ Remember that when you wanted help from Congress for your businesses, you approached us along with your brother. Now you are turning your back on Congress. I was under the impression that your family always supported Congress and was with the congress party. But now that your brother is contesting for Rajya Sabha from the JD(S) ticket has hurt my feelings and also the congress party leaders. Are you aware that past union minister Oscar Fernandes is also contesting the RS polls? How would he feel about your brother’s decision to contest from a different party? Not just me, even General Secretary of the Indian National Congress party’s All India Congress Committee- Digvijay Singh is not happy with your brother’s decision. Just to let you know that chances are that you may not even get a Congress ticket.”

Other Congress leaders during the meeting remained quiet over CMs stern statements on this controversy.

  1. WOW – this is fascinating for more than one reason!! Look at the open admission of inside business dealings and an open threat to not issue ticket in next assembly election!! How come journalists (not the fake ones) are not lining up at Congress party headquarters to get a clarification on CM’s comments? What kind of ‘help’ Mr.Bava was seeking from Congress party for his family business? Is it not a clear case of political party and its elected members rigging the system with unfair advantages? This kind of open admission and threat should make it to national headlines. Then again, it requires true journalists, not just stenographers.

Now, can you imagine the level of outrage from media and ‘beef club’ members if this was a BJP govt? What a sad state of Indian politics and journalism!!!

  2. Siddu seems to be digging his final grave for the coming State Elections…he is questioning the Minority vote bank…

  3. Bava? Who again?

Obviously this is some lekkakkuntu aatakkilla type of guy taken to task by the CM. I don’t think Siddu has much say in Cong I. Wait till Poojary makes his expert commentary. Sixer maaraa.
