BJP’s Mann ki Baat Congress’s Kaam ki Baat- Siddaramaiah during various projects inauguration in Bantwal

CM Siddaramaiah Inaugurates Mini Vidhana Soudha in Bantwal

Bantwal: The Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah inaugurated the 10 completed projects in Bantwal Constituency here on October 22.

CM Siddaramaiah arrived at the Mangaluru International Airport at 10:00 am. After receiving the guard of honour, he proceeded to Bantwal where he inaugurated the Mini Vidhana Soudha.

CM Siddaramaiah inaugurated 10 projects worth Rs 148.29 crore and laid the foundation for various other projects worth Rs 104.21 crore.

The other projects inaugurated include the Inspection Bungalow in Bantwal city built at a cost of Rs 3 crore. KSRTC Hi-tech Bus stand constructed at a cost of Rs 10 crore on a 1.5 acre land, 100 bedded upgraded Bantwal government hospital built at a cost of Rs 6.15 crore, the newly constructed MESCOM building, Drinking water project worth Rs 52.79 crore, the Tree Park costing of Rs 35 lakh, Regional Transport office and the Multi Village Drinking water project.”

The stage programme began with the state anthem. ADC Kumar welcomed the gathering. District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai delivered the keynote address.

Addressing the gathering Ramanath Rai said, “When I was young I had worked in the PLD bank and got an opportunity to serve the people. Because of the support of the people of my constituency, I have won the elections 6 times. I will not forget the support of the people until my last breath. I have won the confidence of the people of my district. The Congress is a secular party and so I had joined this party. CM Siddaramaiah wants to make Karnataka a hunger-free state and has implemented many schemes for the people of the state.

Ramanath Rai further said, “I would like to thank the chief minister for sanctioning funds for the development of Bantwal constituency. Today the CM has inaugurated various projects and laid the foundation stone for other projects. BC Road is the centre of Bantwal. But I have also developed other areas of my constituency. Today I got an opportunity to construct the bus stand. The Mini Vidhana Soudha worth Rs 10 crore is a unique if compared to other districts.”

We need to congratulate the CM for waiving the loan of the farmers. The Paschima Vahini project was not in our election manifesto but the CM has sanctioned funds for the project. We will distribute gas and cylinders to the BPL families through the Anila Bhagya scheme. Dakshina Kannada stands number one in the overall development of the district. 18000 people in the district had applied for 94C and already 16000 of them have benefited. I will remain grateful to the people of my constituency”.

Addressing the gathering CM Siddaramaiah said, “Today many projects have been inaugurated in the Bantwal Constituency and the foundation stone laid for one project all the projects are worth Rs 252 crore. District Minister In-charge Ramanath Rai is the person behind all the development in Bantwal. He is an honest politician and the people of Bantwal constituency are very fortunate to have such a secular man as their leader. Ramanath Rai is known for humanity, he has kept his hands clean. He treats people of all walks of life equally. Many people from the opposition are criticising Ramanath Rai, but he is not involved in any communalism in politics and I am sure he will not involve in future too. Those who are involved in communalism criticise Ramanath Rai. Some people are involved in creating communal unrest for political gain. Ramanath Rai respects the constitution and is an ideal politician. Rai does not talk much but when talks the opposition starts shivering. In the Vidhana Sabha when Ramanath Rai thunders, the communalists cannot speak. Abhaychandra Jain also shuts the mouth of communalists.”

CM Siddaramaiah further said, “In Dakshina Kannada, the communal forces have made the district as their experiment lab. So in 2013, we had organized a padayatra from Ullal to Udupi to promote brotherhood, harmony and unity. The people of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada supported the Padayatra and in Dakshina Kannada, we had won 7 seats in 8 constituencies. People of DK believe in Communal harmony, the communal forces will not succeed in their attempt. In the 2018 election, Congress will win all the 8 seats in Dakshina Kannada. B S Yeddyurappa was talking about Mission 150 but has now dropped his Mission to 50. Now even to win 50 seats, the BJP started to create confusion among the people. The BJP says DK and Udupi will support them to win the elections. I urge the people of DK who believe in secularism, not to cast their vote to the communal party. People of DK are intellectuals and they should think before casting their votes. In Bantwal today is a historic day, we have inaugurated projects worth Rs 252 crores and in the last 4.5 years around Rs 1000 crore worth of development work has been carried out. In other districts too we have carried out a lot of development work. The Congress government has fulfilled 158 promises out of the 165 promised in the 2013 election manifesto. We did not promise to implement Indira Canteen, Anila Bhagya, Farmer loan Waiver and the Matr Poorna scheme, but we have fulfilled all this. In 2008 the BJP had in their manifesto given many promises but failed to fulfill even 25% of it. B S Yeddyurappa was saying I have distributed Sarees and Cycle and then went to jail. From the last 15 days, he is putting allegations on me and D K Shivakumar which are far from the truth. If anyone has the self respect they will not give such statements. He is giving irresponsible statements. Those who do not believe in themselves always put the blame on others. During BJP’s term how many ministers had gone to jail? How many scams took place? But if any government is there without any scam that is the Congress government. By saying lies BJP cannot fool the people for long”.

CM Siddaramaiah also said, “Modi is talking about Ache Din Ayega but Ache Din has come only for Ambani, Adani, Ramdev Baba and Amit Shah’s son. For the poor and the common man, there is no ache din. Let us talk about Amit Shah’s son, his company which was running on loss made Rs 80 crore profit. What is Yeddyurappa saying about it? Modi said he will bring back the black money from foreign banks and credit Rs 15 lakh into the account of every citizen of the country but he has not deposited even Rs 15 until now. He promised to create 2 crore jobs every year and in three years he should have created 6 crore jobs but so far only 4 lakh jobs have been created. Modi was talking about Mann ki Baath but for us it is Vaangi Baath (brinjal). The BJP has not given any post to the minorities, they talk about Sab ka Saath Sab ka Vikas but have not given the opportunity for any person from the minority to contest the MP or MLA elections. BJP is a Dongy party because in 2010 when Yeddyurappa was the CM and the farmers requested to waive the loan Yeddyurappa said, “There is no machine to print the notes to waive the loan”. Last year during the demonetization Modi said, “I will bring the black money holders under control, eliminate corruption and curb terrorism”. But Modi failed to bring the black money holders under control and failed to curb terrorism. We have waived Rs 8165 crore farmers loan.”

“If there is any party that is taking people from all walks of life together then it is only the Congress party. BJP leaders went to Dalit’s house brought food from the hotel and said that they had food in the Dalit’s house. Even when Yeddyurappa was the CM he had not visited any of the Dalit’s House. I had advised Yeddyurappa that if he wanted to bring changes in the life of the Dalits, encourage inter-caste marriages. If they wanted to eliminate the caste system, encourage inter-caste marriages. The Congress government has allocated Rs 2500 crores for the welfare of the minorities. 10 lakh women and girls in the state are getting nutritious food through the Maatru Poorna scheme and Karnataka is the only state to start this scheme. In Bengaluru we have started 200 Indira Canteens, soon we will start the Indira Canteens in Dakshina Kannada. We want Karnataka to be a hunger-free state. After we implemented the Anna Bhagya there is no case of death due to starvation. People get food, education and job. Those who completed PUC 2nd year, about 1.86 lakh PUC Students will get free laptops. BJP believes in Sub ke Saath sub ka vikaas but people should see who is doing Sub ka saath Sab ka Vikas. I urge the people of the state not to be the victims of communalism of the Bajrang Dal, BJP and RSS. We need to live in brotherhood and harmony but the BJP does not believe in this.” said Siddaramaiah.

while concluding Siddaramaiah said, “To retain brotherhood and harmony in the society we have to join hands. The Congress party will not compromise with the communal forces, we will curb the communal forces. I urge your continued support to create a secular and hunger-free state, Karnataka.”

Minister D K Shivakumar, Minister Roshan Baig, Minister HC Mahadevappa, Eshwara Bhimanna Khandre, District minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, Minister Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA J R Lobo, MLA Moideen Bava, MLA Abhaychandra Jain, MLA Shakuntala Shetty, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai, Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Kavitha Sanil,  DC Sasikanth Senthil and others are also present.
