CMC Felicitates Minister Pramod Madhwaraj
Udupi: “Efforts will be made to make Udupi a model district in the state by promoting all round development,” said Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Affairs. He was speaking after receiving a public felicitation organized by CMC Udupi at the Town Hall here, on July 3.
“The Chief Minister of Karnataka and other senior leaders have inducted Priyank Kharge and myself as ministers. I will perform efficiently and honestly.” Leaders like TA Pai, Oscar Fernandes, Manorama Madhwaraj, V S Acharya and others have promoted the welfare of the district. I will work honestly towards the welfare of the district. I will continue the efforts made by Dr V S Acharya to promote the welfare of the district. An effective plan will be formulated to supply drinking water. Rs 300 crore will be sanctioned for KUDCEMP for the UGD work,” he added.
CMC opposition leader Dr M R Pai said that Pramod Madhwaraj and his family’s service to Udupi and the state will always to be remembered. “The humanist approach of Pramod Madhwaraj is a model to everyone. The opposition will support every programme formulated for the development of the district.” He also said that the Minister should concentrate on formulating an effective policy on the supply of drinking water and also on UGD.
Amrith Shenoy, Academic Council member of Mangaluru University, also delivered congratulatory remarks. Meenakshi Madhava Bannaje, president of Udupi City Municipal Council, presided over the programme. Janardhan Bhandarkar read out the citation. All 35 ward councillors along with the guests felicitated Pramod Madhwaraj with a garland, fruits, citation and memento.
Sandhya Thilakaraj (Vice president, CMC), Narashima Moorthy (president of UUDA), Janardhan Thonse (Zilla Panchyat member), Sathish Ameen Padukere (president, Block Congress Udupi), Leena Christina Isaac, Dinakar Shetty Herga, Yuvaraj P (former presidents CMC) and Dinesh Puthran (president, District Athletic Association) were present.
