Dharma Sansad Committed to ‘Society without Untouchability’ – Pravin Togadia

Udupi: Reiterating its commitment to eradicating untouchability from India, the Dharma Sansad has prepared specific Action Plans said Praveen Togadia International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Speaking to the media persons in Udupi on November 25 Togadia said that there is no place for Untouchability in Bharat. VHP always believed in this principle. In the Udupi Hindu Conclave 1966, a resolution was passed to this effect by all “Hindava Sarve Sahodaraaha” meaning, all Hindus are brothers. They also specified, “Na Hindu Patito Bhavet.” Meaning, No Hindu is lower or downgraded than any other Hindu.

The Dharma Sansad today stressed that wherever there is a village / town, there will be a common source for water. All will drink the same water. All Hindus must get entry in all Temples. No Hindu should be barred from entering any Temple. Even in death, all Hindus are one. Meaning, one Crematorium for all Hindus. In many places, there are caste based crematoriums and this widens the divide. All will share meals together. During the village functions etc, there is a separate seating arrangement based on castes. Eating food together creates a bonding & the Dharma Sansad is aiming at it.

Under the ‘Hindu Parivaar Mitra’ campaign, Dr Togadia said that the upper caste Hindu families should eat in Dalits’ kitchen, invite them to your kitchen stand with them in their moment of joy and grief go out to travel with them this is the message we wish to convey.

Togadia advised Hindu families to get all their children educated. He wanted everyone to get employed and hunger to be driven away from India and noted that poor families are struggling for food even now. The Dharma Sansad has decided to strengthen Bharat as a ‘Society without Untouchability’.
