Doctors protest results in loss of 42 lives, Palemar Demands Compensation for Families

Mangaluru: “The state government has played with the lives of 6 crore people by bringing the KPME act into force. The people of the state are in confusion due o the failure of the State government. Due to the protest of the doctors more than 42 people lost their lives. All the deceased families should be compensated with Rs 10 lakh each”, said the former minister Krishna J Palemar in a press meet held at the Press Club here on November 17.

Addressing the mediapersons Krishna J Palemar said, “Dakshina Kannada is known as the Medical hub and the present protest of the doctors especially in Dakshina Kannada has created confusion in the minds of the people. Already 42 people in the state have lost their lives, who is responsible for the death of the innocent patients? The government has no right to fix the price for different treatment in private hospitals. The law sending the doctors to jail is not fair,” he said.

Palemar further said, “The Government should fulfill the demands of the doctors and Rs 0 lakh compensation should be given to all the 42 families of the deceased patients. Doctors too have the responsibility to provide treatment for their patients and should not play with the lives of their patients. Doctors should concentrate on their duties with humanity and stop their agitation.”

Palemar also said, “If the hospital does not provide quality treatment and cheat the patient, action should be taken against them. The government has no right to fix the price for private hospitals since private hospitals bring highly qualified doctors and also doctors from foreign countries to treat the patients. Such kind of treatment will not be possible in the government hospitals”.

  1. Palemar is a waste of time. He lost his good will with people when he was caught watching looking at doubtful scenes on his mobile a time when he was suppossed to participate in the assembley proceedings. Even Jannu is far better.
