Dr G R Sundar Ram Pai (71) of Moodbidri Passes away

Mangaluru: Dr G R Sundar Ram Pai (71), founder of Bharat Pharmacy, Moodbidri, passed away in a private hospital here, following a brief illness.


He had begun his medical practice as a practitioner of Ayurveda and Homoeopathy in the mid-1970s soon to begin a production house for Ayurvedic products under the banner of Bharat Pharmacy. His products became so popular that his trade extended to other states like Kerala, Maharashtra, Goa, Tamil Nadu and others, supplying as many as 170 products.

He had served in Rotary International for many years and was the president of the Moodbidri club for a term.

He is survived by three sons. Among them are Sooraj Pai, managing trustee of Shri Venkataramana and Shri Hanumant temples and Dr Dheeraj S Pai of Alva’s Ayurvedic College.

  1. Sorry to note the passing of my cousin Dr Sundarram Pai. He was a quiet person by nature. He was soft spoken and a man of few words. May his soul rest in peace. My sympathies to his children and brother Mr Damodar Pai.
