DVS and Moily should be Awarded Khel Ratna for Yettinahole Project

Mangaluru: Former CMs, DVS and Moily Should be Awarded Khel Ratna award said, Senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary in a press meet held at the Press Club, Urwa here on September 3.

Addressing the mediapersons Janardhan Poojary said, “Chief minister Siddaramaiah and the former Chief ministers from our own district Sadananda Gowda and Veerappa Moily have given a clear message that they will implement the Yettinahole project at any cost. They have also instructed the officials that if they face any problems in this regard, they should approach them”.

Poojary further said, “Now it is clear that the CM along with the former CMs are going to make the coastal into a desert. The people of the coastal districts do not agree with their decision and will protest against the project. The former CMs and the present CM are playing an Olympic game going ahead with the Yetthinahole project. In Olympics when they get medals, the government gives the Khel Ratna Award. Likewise, the former CMs should get the Khel Ratna award, and they deserve it for the Yetthinahole project”, he said.

Poojary also stressed, “If both the former CMs have any concern for their own district they would not have initiated the project. Chief minister Siddaramaiah is the victim of their conspiracy. This is not a great achievement. Please drop the Yettinahole project. In Coastal area, there are many rivers that join the Netravati river. To increase the ground water level, we need water to flow to the Netravati river. If the river water will not flow to the sea, the sea will swallow us. The CM is thinking that there is no one to question him. CM along with the Home minister went to Delhi to meet Sonia Gandhi and said that the High command has given the order to continue the project”.

Poojary further said that, CM is saying that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have agreed for the Yettinahole project and then said that he is waiting for the orders of high command. If Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have agreed, then why is the CM waiting for the high command’s clearance? questioned Poojary. “The Chief minister is lying, Sonia Gandhi is the high command, according to CM’s statement, once Sonia Gandhi has given the permission to continue the project, whose permission is the CM waiting for”, Poojary questioned.

When asked about the continued allegation on CM Siddaramaiah, Poojary said, “Who is the high command? High Command means Sonia Gandhi whom Poojary had met in Delhi?  I did not meet the chief minister but I met the High Command and briefed on the consequences of the Yettinahole project. The chief minister is not listening to the high command, he does not care for the high command, he is now thinking that he is above the high command. Now the media will highlight that Poojary is attacking the CM. I have said that the Chief minister is lying and also that the Coastal region will become a desert.”
When asked about the earlier statement “Poojary demands the commission of inquiry”, Poojary denied and said, “I did not give any such statement to any media that the commission of inquiry should be done in Yettinahole project. If I have said I will accept my mistake and apologies. Please bring the evidence that I have demanded the commission of inquiry.”

  1. Interesting points raised by Mr. Poojary. Being a senior leader in congress, no major role for him. just press meet once in 15 days. no other work sir? no use of highlighting the issues within congress, they just want to ruin the state with all bhagyas. Make project to provide employment for the growing population
