E- Poster Contest on Theme ‘Breast Feeding- a Gift that Lasts a lifetime’

Mangaluru: Department of Community Medicine of A. J. Medical College in association with OBG and Pediatrics held a concluding function at their college auditorium of week-long Breast Milk promotion efforts with the theme “ Breast Feeding – A gift that lasts a lifetime” on 26th August.


Among the 20 undergraduate team e-posters, six were short listed by team of two judges, Dr. Mangalagowri Kamath from Department of OBG and Dr. Jayashree Hegde from Department of Pediatrics. After the final selection by Dr.Amritha Bhandary, IMA President, Mangaluru, Dr. Roshan Maben, Professor in A.J. Paediatrics department and Mrs.Vani Jayaram, Past President, Samatha Mahila Balaga, the team of Mr. Emil Basil Scaria and Vaishnav Radhakrishnan and Ms. Sreedevi S.R. & Ms. Apoorva Janardhan were adjudged the winners, who briefly highlighted their theme e-posters. Dr. Ashok Hegde, Dean and Dr. S. Jayaram Medical Superintendent felicitated the judges and gave away the prizes and certificates.


The program was well anchored by Dr. Chethana K and overview of World Breast Feeding Week theme, BFNI activities were highlighted by Dr. Maria N, faculties in Community Medicine.


There were also health awareness activities at A.J. Field Practice Areas namely rural at Panemangalore, Urban at Kavoor and Shaktinagar.
