LOCATION:  This church is situated at a distance of 18 kms from Mangalore and is surrounded by Pezar, Kulur, Surathkal and Bajpe parishes.

HISTORY:    

Thokur was a sub-station of Pezar parish.  Mr Domnic Rosario D’Souza donated some land and Fr Norbert D’Souza of Pezar purchased the land next to it for the church, a total of  42 cents of  land.   Fr Norbert D’Souza constructed the church building which was inaugurated on May 10, 1989.

Since there was no presbytery at Thokur, it was served from Pezar. Thokur became a parish on May 28, 2000, after the completion of the presbytery.  Fr Francis D’Souza was the first parish priest here.

Fr Sebastian (Sabas) Fernandes, the parish priest of Pezar started St Sebstian’s Higher Primary School in 1933.
