Empty Fuel Tanker Lands into Gorge after Hitting Parked Jeep at Tenka Yermal

Udupi: An empty fuel tanker on its way to Mangaluru for filling hit a stationary jeep near the Neraltaya shrine at Tenka Yermal in the taluk on Tuesday.

Then it landed into a 12-foot gorge by the side of the highway. It is suspected that the driver, having driven overnight, dozed off at the wheel and failed to spot the jeep parked by the side of the road.

He has sustained moderate injuries and is being treated in a hospital. The Padubidri police have registered a case.
