Fisherman from Bhatkal Drowns at Sea near Malpe, Feared Dead

Udupi: Prakash Naik, hailing from Bhatkal and engaged in fishing trade in Malpe, drowned after accidentally slipping from the boat while at deep sea.


He and others had sailed off the Malpe port on board a boat bearing name Gangalakshmi on March 9 in the early hours. After reaching the deep sea, Naik suddenly fell off.

He could not be traced even after a long search. Hence he is feared to have died.

A case has been registered at the Malpe police station.
