Five Killed in Tragic Road Mishap at Uppala
Uppala: In a Tragic road mishap five persons died and 8 others were injured when a Lorry collided with a Jeep at Nayabazar on NH 66, Uppala here on July 9.
The deceased have been identified as Bifathima (65), Asma (30), Naseema (38), Mushtaq (41) and Imtiyaz (35) all from Ajjinadka, K C Road.
According to sources, the Jeep was carrying 13 persons from Palakkad to Ullal at the time of the incident. All the 13 were returning from Palakkad after attending a function to Ullal on the jeep. At Uppala, when the tyre of a Lorry which was on the way to Kasargod burst, the driver lost control over the Lorry and rammed into the Jeep, killing five people on the jeep.
The Manjeshwar police reached the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital and the bodies were shifted to the Mangalpadi hospital mortuary.
