Former Minister B A Moideen to Receive Devaraj Urs Award 

Mangaluru: The state government will confer Devaraj Urs Award on former higher education minister and senior congress leader B A Moideen, said the Chief Whip of Karnataka Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at the MCC Premises here on August 25.

Addressing the mediapersons Ivan said, “B A Mohideen has worked hard for the welfare of the backward class when he was the district minister in-charge. He worked for the upliftment of the backward community. The Devaraj Urs award will be an honour for the people of Dakshina Kannada”.
To celebrate this honour, a public felicitation programme will be held on September 15, at 4:00 pm at the Town Hall, under the presidentship of Mayor Harinath. A felicitation committee headed by Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza, Mustafa Sullia, S M Rasheed and Lawrence D’Souza has been former.  Minister for Health and Family Welfare K R Ramesh Kumar will deliver the felicitation speech. Home minister Dr G Parameshwar, District minister in-charge B Ramanath Rai and minister U T Khader will take part in the felicitation programme.
