Former PM Deve Gowda, Wife visit Krishna Math; Seek Blessings of Pejawar Swamiji
Udupi: Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, along with his wife Channamma, visited the Sri Krishna Math and performed a special puja in Udupi here, on May 14.
Gowda and Channamma are undergoing Ayurvedic treatment in Sai Radha Resort at Muloor, Kaup. The couple visited the Sri Krishna Math in Udupi and offered prayers to the presiding deity of the temple.
Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji of Palimar Math, who is the present Paryaya, performed a puja during the occasion. He also blessed the former Prime Minister and his wife.
Later, they had lunch at the temple. Gowda and Channamma savoured rice, sambar, palya, and sweets.
After visiting the Sri Krishna Math, H D Deve Gowda and his wife Channamma met Sri Vishwesha Thirtha Swamiji of the Pejawar Math. The Pejwar Swamiji is celebrating his 88 th Janma Nakshtra (Birthday) Celebration on Tuesday.
On behalf of the state of Karnataka, H D Deve Gowda felicitated the Pejawar Swamiji on the occasion. In turn, the Pejawar Swamiji also felicitated the couple.
Addressing the media H D Deve Gowda said, “Today, I met the Pejawar Swamiji on his 88 th Birthday and sought his blessings. I visited the Krishna temple and performed puja there.” He refused to speak on political issues.
