Four Arrested in Dharmasthala Chandrakanth Assault Case

Beltangady: The Dharmasthala police have arrested four persons in connection with the assault on Chandrakanth, from Mulikkaru House, here on August 3.

The arrested have been identified as Yogesh Gowda(33), Satish Gowda(29), Sharan Gowda(20) and Sandesh Gowda(24), all from Mulikkaru House, Dharmasthala.

On August 2 evening, after playing Volleyball Chandrakanth (33) was on his way home from the Gangotri ground, a group assaulted him with iron rods, knife and wooden clubs and threatened to kill him. When other players came to his rescue the attackers fled from the spot. Severely injured Chandrakanth was admitted to the Government hospital in Belthangady.

In this regard, a case was filed in the Dharmasthala police station. All the arrested have been produced before the court where they have been remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.
