Four of Brahmavar Family Die in Ghastly Road Mishap near Kolhapur

Pune: Four members of a family hailing from Brahmavar in Udupi district died in a ghastly road mishap near here on Tuesday morning.

The family members – some of them currently based in Ghatkopar in Mumbai and some in Pune – were in Brahmavar to attend a function and had left on Monday evening.

When they reached Mangarayachiwadi cross on the Pune-Bengaluru highway, a truck, after getting fuel from a filling station, is said to have joined the highway all of a sudden.

The man at the car’s wheel could not slow down. The vehicle rammed straight under the rear of the truck. The front of the car got totally smashed. Four died in the mishap.

They are
Santosh Domba Devadiga (41),
Poornima Santosh Devadiga (35)
Anisha Santosh Devadiga (4), of Brahmavar origin, residents of Ghatkopar
and
Supriya Datta Devadiga (36), resident of Dabadi in Talegaon of Pune.

Supriya’s husband Datta Devadiga (45) was critically injured and has been admitted to Chhatrapati Pramila Raje hospital in Kolhapur. His condition is said to be alarming. He is employed in a private firm in Chakan in Pune district.

Kapil Vitthal Devadiga and Avanish Datta Devadiga who were also in the car are out of danger.
