Paris, Nov 14 (IANS) The French Football Federation (FFF) on Saturday closed its national football centre Clairefontaine, where the national team is currently based, to media and common people on Saturday following the deadly terrorist attacks here.
The country has declared a state of emergency in the aftermath of the attacks which included two explosions outside the Stade de France stadium where France were hosting Germany in a friendly match on Friday. France won the match 2-0.
FFF has cancelled Saturday’s planned media conferences.
“Because of the dramatic events in the Friday night in Saint-Denis and Paris, the French Football Federation decided to cancel all the appointments of the team of France”, said a statement on the FFF website on Saturday.
“Accordingly, the meeting with supporters, press conference and public access to the drive are cancelled. The CNF Clairefontaine will be closed this Saturday.”
France will next have to play another friendly against England at the Wembley stadium on Tuesday but the English Football Association have said they will discuss the matter with FFF and then decide if the match should go ahead.
