Free travel for disabled in all buses in Delhi

New Delhi, March 22 (IANS) The Delhi government on Tuesday approved free travel for people suffering from any disability, in AC and non-AC buses of DTC as well as the cluster scheme.

“The cabinet today (Tuesday) approved free travel facilities through all route passes issued by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) to a person suffering from any disability in accordance with the Disabilities Act, in air conditioned (AC) and non-AC buses of DTC and cluster scheme,” an official statement said.

Out of 6,055 buses (4,555 of DTC and 1,500 cluster buses), 1,275 are AC buses. Till now, people with disability were given passes only for non-AC buses.
