Los Angeles, Sep 12 (IANS) Singer Ellie Goulding says her boyfriend Dougie Poynter stopped her from “losing it all” as she struggled to cope up with fame.
The “Love me like you do” hitmaker opened up about finding fame difficult before she met her boyfriend and singer two years ago while talking to fashion and style website – Refinery29, reports mirror.co.uk.
The 28-year-old divulged about her troubled past while talking about her new album, which is expected to be released later this year.
“I have a song on the album that is called ‘Two Years’. It’s about two years ago, which is before I met my boyfriend. I went through a phase of being on tour and having a really hard time and not being home, and even just struggling with having a number one song,” she said.
The singer added: “That was a time when I couldn’t deal with anything. I was drinking, and I was not really myself. It’s only when you come out of that phase you realise you were in trouble.”
