Head-on Collision Between Bikes, Three Killed

Karkala: Three persons were killed and 2 others injured at Shirlalu Paduvettu in Ajekar when two motorbikes collided head-on here on Sunday, May 8.

The deceased have been identified as Santosh (23), Dinesh (18) from Naravi and Praveen (32) from Andaru village of Karkala Taluk. Sundar and Vignesh have suffered injuries.

According to the police, Santosh and his brother Dinesh were proceeding from Hebri to Kuthloor after attending a function. Praveen, Vignesh and Sundar were moving on another bike in the opposite direction. Both bikes moving at high speeds, collided head-on near Shirlalu killing Santosh, Dinesh and Praveen on the spot. Sundar and Vignesh sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital. Overspeeding and riding recklessly are the main causes of the accident, said the police.

A case has been registered in the Ajekar Police Station.
