High Court Rejects Bail Plea of Niranjan Bhat in Bhaskar Shetty Murder Case

Udupi: The High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of Niranjan Bhat, accused in the Hotelier Bhaskar Shetty murder Case.

The single bench court, presided by Justice Ratnakala rejected the bail plea and asked Niranjan Bhat to provide evidence relating to the case to the prosecution in the next 6 months and to apply for a fresh bail in the competent court.

Bhaskar Shetty, an Hotelier and businessman, who owned big businesses in Saudi Arabia and Udupi, went missing from his house on July 28, and his mother Gulabi Shetty lodged a missing person’s complaint in the Manipal police station on July 29.

The police arrested Rajeshwari Shetty and her son Navneeth, on charges of murder on August 7, 2016.
