High speed broadband should be available to all: Jayant Sinha

New Delhi, Feb 10 (IANS) Indicating support to net neutrality, Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha on Wednesday called for access to high speed broadband to be available to all Indians.

“Access to high speed broadband should be available to every citizen, without any restrictions,” Sinha said at the 10th India Digital Summit organised by Internet and Mobile Association of India.

“There are three vectors for the transformation (in India) – internet and mobile; green technology and transportation. All of them are inter-linked and technology is the secret sauce for India’s transformation,” he added.

About technology and Jan Dhan Yojna programme, Sinha said: “If you look at it, it is technology which is driving most of the programmes of the government.

“The social security platform, which the government is working on is dependent on technology. Technology will be pivotal for social security, as it will enable a transparent system with digital audit trail.”
