Mangaluru: I S Abdul Khader (76), a farmer and trader and also respectable community leader from Malar Arastana of Pavoor village near Konaje, passed away at his residence on Wednesday.
Besides being engaged in farming and trading, he had served as president of Malar Muhiuddin Juma mosque and of the Arastana Hayat-ul-Islam Daff committee.
He had founded IS brand of bidi making industry, hence he was commonly identified by those initials.
He is survived by three daughters and five sons including journalist Hamza Malar.
