KSRTC Buses to Ply from Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) to Mangaluru and Manipal

Mangaluru: Just like they have BMTC buses operating from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to the City, in a similar way, KSRTC has been requested by the authorities to ply their buses from Mangaluru International Airport-Kenjar/Bajpe, to Mangaluru, Manipal and other surrounding places. If everything goes on well as planned, we could see this bus service soon.

Chief Secretary T.M. Vijay Bhaskar on Friday, 26 October instructed the KSRTC to operate buses from Mangaluru International Airport to the city and other places, including Manipal, where lots of out-of-town students in Manipal arrive at MIA. .Speaking to officials after inspecting development works at the airport, he said as the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has permitted the KSRTC to operate buses from the airport to Manipal it should act soon.

He further said said, “BMTC which operates buses from the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to different places in the city, has become a success since many commuters are availing the service. So why not KSRTC start the same service in Mangaluru too”. The Chief Secretary said the State government would extend cooperation for all development works at the airport.

Later, Vijay Bhasker inspecting the progress of work on the new Deputy Commissioner’s office complex at Padil, Mangaluru said, “Once this complex is ready, the district- level offices of such government departments that did not have own building should be shifted to this new office complex, without any delay.

He also saw the new market complex being built at Surathkal. The Chief Secretary held a meeting with officials of New Mangalore Port Trust. He asked the port trust to take steps for increasing coffee export through the port. The port officials informed the Chief Secretary that 24,258 tourists visited the port in 22 ships during 2017–18.
