Hooray! Hooray! It’s a Holi-Holiday! Bank Staff to Rejoice with 5-Holidays in a Row

Mangaluru: “Easy Job, Easy Money”- that’s right when you are employed in a Bank, one of the best jobs in the Country; and apart from that you get lots of holidays- what more can you ask for? And for that matter, starting this weekend, banks will banks will remain closed on account of continuous holidays, due to various feasts and Gandhi Jayanti. So if you are doing regular transactions at the bank, it is advisable that you plan ahead and get your bank work done before it’s too late.

The list of Bank holidays that follow day after day are :Sep 28: Thursday- Maha Ashtami (Restricted Holiday); Sep 29 : Friday- Maha Navami (Ayudha Pooja) Restricted Holiday; Sep 30 : Saturday Dussehra (Vijayadashami) Gazetted Holiday; Oct 1: Sunday: Holiday as Usual being Sunday/Muharram/; and the following day, Oct 2 :Monday Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti (Gazetted Holiday). Wow- Wouldn’t you wish that you had a bank job!

And due to the closure of banks for five days in a row, and with many customers using ATM facilities for cash withdrawals, chances are that most of these ATM’s will be low in cash or will be completely dry. It’s better to withdraw money well in advance before the start of all these holidays, so you don’t have to worry about shortage of cash. Bank sources also reveal that clearance of cheques and deposit of cash will not be accepted during these holidays. Better get all your bank transactions-deposits and withdrawals done well in advance, rather than face all the hassles later.
