House in Kunjibettu Udupi Burgled by Sliding Tiles of Kitchen Roof

Udupi: A house located in Kunjibettu was burgled on April 28 night as two members of the family were asleep in another room.

Two pairs of gold earrings valued at Rs 24,000 were stolen. The loss appeared to be much lower than what the thieves expected to get and in comparison with the effort taken.

The theft came to the inmates’ notice only when they went to the kitchen on Friday. What has shocked and surprised them and neighbours as to how the thieves managed to climb up the roof, slide the tiles and get into the house without disturbing two persons sleeping in the hall.

The miscreants also rummaged the cupboard to finally find the gold earrings. They are thought to be skilled and professional thieves.
