Washington, Aug 28 (IANS) American professional basketball player Derrick Rose has said that a lawsuit accusing him of sexual misconduct is untrue.
Chicago Bulls guard Rose is being sued by his ex-girlfriend, who has claimed that he and two of his friends drugged and gang raped her,reports Xinhua.
“I am just focusing on staying healthy and getting ready for the season,” Rose said in a statement on Thursday.
“I am not going to comment other than to say: I know the truth, and am confident I will be proven innocent.”
The lawsuit was filed by an unidentified woman who said she dated Rose from 2011 to 2013 and she accused Rose and his two friends of drugging her and ganging raped her in August 2013.
The Bulls released a statement early Thursday morning, saying: “We just learned about this matter and do not know all the facts. It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
