Bridgetown (Barbados), June 23 (IANS) The selection of a new president is one of the items on the agenda of the International Cricket Council’s Annual Conference which got underway here on Monday.

Bangladeshi Mustafa Kamal controversially quit the post during the 2015 World Cup after launching a broadside against the world governing body, reports CMC.

Media reports indicate that Najam Sethi, the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s executive committee, is likely to fill the vacant post. Sethi was already expected to take over from Kamal on July 1.

The other items on the agenda include discussion on an ICC Associate membership application from Serbia, a report from the chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU), receiving recommendations on cricket and development matters from recent committee meetings and looking at the ICC strategy post-2015.

This is the first time the meetings will be taking place in the Caribbean and with delegates from over 50 ICC members expected to attend, making it the largest gathering of cricket administrators in the Americas region to date.

Several high-level meetings will be held during the conference with the ICC Chief Executives’ Committee sitting down on Monday and Tuesday and the Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee meeting on Thursday.
