‘Ice Age: Collision Course’ first trailer arrives

Los Angeles, Dec 17 (IANS) The first trailer of “Ice Age: Collision Course” has surfaced online.

The fifth instalment of the “Ice Age” movie series brings back Scrat the squirrel, who is still in quest of his favourite acorn. However, it accidentally takes him into space, reports aceshowbiz.com.

The trailer opens with Scrat entering a cave below the iceberg, where he accidentally activates a spaceship.

When he tries to take back his acorn, the ship flies and gets into space. He then experiences a series of ridiculous cosmic events which cause some planets to collide and threaten the Ice Age World.

The trailer also shows a glimpse of Manny the Mammoth, Sid the Sloth and Diego the Tiger.

Realising that they have to save themselves from the cosmic threat, “Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colourful new characters.”

Back in November, 20th Century Fox debuted a short film entitled “Scratastrophe” which also followed the adventure of Scrat in outer space.

The film is expected to release in US on July 22 next year.
