I’m focussing on direction now: Vinay Pathak

Mumbai, Aug 29 (IANS) Versatile actor Vinay Pathak says he was focussing his creative energy on film direction and will be making an announcement about his directorial debut soon.

“Direction is something that I am focussing on right now. Hopefully, I will direct a film soon,” Vinay told IANS.

“I have a couple of scripts and I am working on it. They are almost close to getting ready. So you all will hear an announcement soon. All I can say is that my film will be high on content,” he said.

Vinay, who has had a small screen stint, is known for his work in films like “Khosla Ka Ghosla”, “Dasvidaniya”, “Chalo Dilli”, “Johnny Gaddaar” and “Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi”.

As an actor, he is not happy with the kind of scripts coming his way nowadays.

“If I was happy, I would be seen in lots of films. I am not happy, and by virtue of that, I am called choosy and picky… Please don’t blame me. The same kind of things keep coming my way. I can’t keep doing the same role over and over again. I rather prefer to wait for the right one,” he said.

The actor’s new release will be “Island City”, which also features Tannishtha Chatterjee, Amruta Subhash and Chandan Roy Sanyal. Directed by Ruchika Oberoi, it will release on September 2.
