Improve air connectivity to Himachal, urges health minister

New Delhi, Dec 23 (IANS) Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Wednesday urged his colleague Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapati Raju to improve air connectivity to his state Himachal Pradesh.

“Improved air connectivity is a must for Himachal Pradesh in view of the large number of inflow of tourists as well as for putting it on the development map,” Nadda said during a meeting here.

The minister also sought resumption of smaller ATR-42 type flights between Delhi and Shimla as the existing runway has been approved by experts for such an operation.

The aviation minister said all matters discussed will be taken up on priority basis.

“The civil aviation ministry should also invite private players to start heli-taxi services from Chandigarh to Himachal Pradesh as this is a viable and feasible method of improving air connectivity without further delay.
