India approaches UN to name Masood Azhar in SC sanctions list

United Nations: India has formally approached the UN to include Jaish-e-Mohammad chief and Pathankot terror attack mastermind Masood Azhar in the Security Council’s sanctions list, strongly emphasising the urgency to take action against him.

India’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Syed Akbaruddin yesterday wrote to New Zealand Ambassador Gerard Jacoubus van Bohemen, the Chair of the 1267 al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee, submitting India’s request that the JeM chief’s name be included in the committee’s sanctions list.

Armed with strong evidence of the outfit’s terror activities and its role in the January 2 Pathankot attack that killed seven Indian soldiers, India told the UN Sanctions Committee that not listing Azhar has clearly demonstrated how it and other countries in South Asia continue to face threats posed by the terror group and its leader.

Calling for immediate action to be taken to list Azhar under the al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee, India said it is the responsibility of the committee to protect UN nations and its citizens from terror groups like the JeM and its leaders.

Listing Azhar will prove that the global community is committed to tackling the scourge of terrorism and will help protect Indian citizens and those of other countries from the terror threats posed by him and his outfit, India said.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup had said in New Delhi that it is a “great anomaly” that the organisation JeM is listed but its leader is not.

India also noted that following the Pathankot attack, Pakistan had taken action against several individuals belonging to the Jaish.

The UN had banned JeM in 2001 but India’s efforts to ban Azhar after the Mumbai terror attack did not fructify, as China – one of the five permanent members of the UN group with veto powers – did not allow the ban apparently on the behest of Pakistan.

On February 18, a fresh list of 11 individuals and one organisation linked to terrorism in India, was submitted by New Delhi to the sanctions committee.

  1. “India has formally approached the UN to include Jaish-e-Mohammad chief and Pathankot terror attack mastermind Masood Azhar in the Security Council’s sanctions list, strongly emphasising the urgency to take action against him.”

India should first consult with JNU and JNU supporters as well as media before taking any action.

  2. This is why India continues to be a joke at international level. All we do is create dossiers with ‘strong evidence’ and approach others for help and action!! Nobody cares about these things in this world. Look what happened to Dawood Ibrahim.

If India has any shame and self-respect, it wouldn’t act like a little school boy crying all the time. Instead, it would start hitting back where it hurts the most. First, go after those communities and groups within India who are are sympathetic towards terrorists. Next, fund a few painful covert operations inside enemy territory. See how US, Russia, China and Israel deal with these rats.

Unfortunately, India is a toothless, sick tiger that is good at nothing. We are all talk no action. Our political leaders are all corrupt and useless. They would sell our country if nobody is watching. Our media is clueless and toothless. Our police are good at harassing some goodangadi owners. Enemy will continue to stab us over and over again as the country slowly bleeds to death.

      Hey Rampa..

Have you tried addressing that Q to the 56 ‘incher’? I mean – didn’t he promise ‘Acche Din’ (whatever that is supposed to mean! And well, I hope his ‘Manki Baat’ which is due shortly will address ALL of that).

And then, wasn’t it the 56 ‘incher’ who promised that he would halve the value of the IRS against the USD in some 3 months? (It was some 58.44 rs versus the USD on 14 May 2014).

And oh! THAT would be after he single-handedly brought back Dawooda Ibraheema from Karachi and locked him up for posterity in Tihar Jail AFTER ‘distributing’ EXACTLY 15 lakh IRS to ALL Indians? (Rampa is obviously EXCLUDED on grounds of being an Akhanda Bharatha Bhagi! 🙂 )

And look where it (IRS versus the USD) is standing now! It is inching closer and closer to 70! Will it touch our very very tired and retired Margadarshaka’s age soon? And imagine! Crude Oil is hovering around the 30 USD/barrel level!

Or does the 56″ man have MORE on his Veg thali at home? After all, his ragtag coterie have displayed NOTHING but RSS ‘goondgiri’ left, right & centre.

To ‘solve’ so-called ‘issues’ at IIT, they asked Aunty national (Smriti Irani) to butt-in. The RSS chaddis want to stifle all voices except their OWN – and to hell with all of India’s 3rd class!

Our beef-hating Srimaaana Rampa is strongly advised to read this. Well, to a staunch RSS lover, gastro-esophageal reflux in addition to acute diarrhea are not uncommon!

The former Supreme Court judge B.N. Srikrishna (75) continues to call a spade a spade. A devout Hindu, he quotes from the scriptures and Manusmriti and finds the ban on beef insufferable. The outspoken judge, who was advised by Bal Thackeray to go to Pakistan after the release of the Srikrishna Commission report on 1992-93 riots in Bombay, also finds the current debate on nationalism spurious and charges of sedition against the JNU students over-the-top. Excerpts from the conversation he had with Prachi Pinglay Plumber.

      What is sedition?

Originally the British introduced sedition to keep control over populace. They being outsiders were always scared that local populace may rise against them. They introduced section 124-A in IPC, which means causing disaffection towards government established by law by words or any other means. That is sedition. It was punishable by life or death, earlier it was punishable by kala pani. This was the manner in which the law was laid down.

The High Courts were following this section strictly but the Federal Court took a position that it needed to be read down. It would not amount to sedition unless there is incitement of violence and break down of law and order. (The distinction has to be made – murder is a law and order problem but a riot is break down of law and order.) Unfortunately, this was carried to the Privy Council, they reversed it. They said they would go by the letter of the law. Fortunately, after constitution came into force, the Supreme Court came into force and again reversed it.

Does the current incident of JNU campus fall under this?

I read what is said to be the transcript of the speech. I don’t see what is seditious. For a moment let us assume he said India murdabad etc, but that by itself doesn’t amount to sedition. Only if it is followed by incitement such as saying let’s go storm the parliament, let’s burn down, let’s attack etc. Also the courts will decide whether it amounts to sedition or not. Who on earth are these fellows who jump on him and break his head?

What bothers me is lawyers behaving in this manner. Lawyers are becoming ruffians. Rather ruffians are becoming lawyers. Assume police were wrong but as lawyers you cannot take law into your own hands. You are sworn to act by the constitution, which does not allow anybody to use violence except when sanctioned by law.

  3. I wonder why joker Pinto from ‘Beef Club’ posted three separate posts to attack Modiji and failed to utter a single word against the rat shown in the picture above. It goes back to one of the questions I posted a few days ago – Why is it that minority groups are finding themselves more and more supportive and sympathetic towards anti-bharatha groups? Why is it that they are willing to attack and destroy their own country? Is it all the fault of their foreign masters who taught these guys self-hate and a serious allergy towards sanaathana gharma over generations? How sad!!

  4. If India has any shame and self-respect, it wouldn’t act like a little school boy crying all the time. Instead, it would start hitting back where it hurts the most. First, go after those communities and groups within India who are are sympathetic towards terrorists. -Atheist Mr.Original pai

Sir, India would have never faced this day if the BJP Vice PM L.K.Advani during Vajpayee era asked the foreign minister to accompany the terrorist in private jet to door deliver in kandahar.Today one of chief negotiator Ajit Doval become PM Narendra Modi’s national security advisor responsible for the blunder.

The demand to release the convicted Khalistan terrorists has put the state of Punjab politics on a boil.It has also come to light that the home minister had allowed for the release of a convicted Khalistani terrorist lodged at a prison in Bareilly, in Uttar Pradesh, on humanitarian grounds in October last year. Identified as Waryam Singh, he was held guilty by a TADA court in 1990 for taking part in the Punjab liberation movement and is one of the 13 convicted terrorists whose release has been sought by the SAD. The home ministry was said to be initially against the release of convicted terrorists as it would give a wrong signal to the law enforcement agencies and primarily be seen as “appeasement” of a particular community. But the 2017 polls made them change their mind.

Vote bank politics is regaining its head in Punjab as the Assembly elections draw near. Despite the clear directions of country’s intelligence agencies that mass transfer or release of convicted Khalistan terrorists can fan the anti-national wave, Punjab’s politicians and hardliners continue to raise the demand.

The sad part is that the Khalistan terrorists who mercilessly killed hundreds were termed as martyrs. They are honoured by the SGPC every year and a memorial has been built in their name.In unique way of nationalism BJP is coalition partner in the state.

The BJP asserted that it practises zero tolerance on terrorism. In an unprecedented decision state of J&K separatist leader Masarat Alam was released. This is same party which is cracking down on JNU leadership using ‘anti-national’ on Afzal Guru issue.

In 2014 Lok Sabha election BJP is coalition in Tamil Nadu and had alliance with MDMK. The founder of the party Vaiko was the first member of Parliament and chief of a registered political party in the country to be detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, 2002.He was released after spending 18 months in prison.

RSS political wing BJP has unique nationalism from JNU to LTTE.

    Jai Hind
