The Kanaka Nade was limited to Sri Krishna Math premises but defying the orders issued by the deputy commissioner,  the organizers inaugurated the programme in the Car Street which is a public road.  Legal action should be initiated against Chakravarty Sulibele, Pejawar Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji, BJP leader Pramila Nesargi and others. They have promoted untouchability by cleaning the roads in which the Dalits and the others marched during the Udupi Chalo march.

Chakravarty Sulibele has promoted untouchability by organizing Kanaka Nade, and he should be booked under the SC/ST Atrocities Act.  We have never announced of forcibly entering the Sri Krishna Math.  Jignesh Mevani’s speech has been misquoted.

Leaders like Vilas Nayak, Raghupati Bhat, Vasudev Bhat, Dinesh Mendon, Pramod Muthalik and others have given open threat to the Dalits for which they should be booked under the Goonda Act.

After receiving the memorandum, Deputy Commissioner said that the district superintendent of police is yet to file a report and based on  the report of Tahsildar and SP, action will be initiated. He also said that he would talk to the Police superintendent and look into the allegations. He has not yet received any complaints with regard to the violations. However following the submission of the memorandum by the Dalit organizations, the police would check the video clippings and later decide the course of action. He also said that the permission was denied to hold Kanaka Nade. Since Car Street is a public place, the police could have stopped the organizers, he added.

Prof Phaniraj, G Rajshekar, Jayan Malpe, Yaseen Kodibengre, Hussain Kodibengre, S S Prasad,  Parameshwar Uppor, Abdul Aziz,  Yuvaraj,  Shyamraj Birthi, Shashidhar Hemmadi and others were present.
