Los Angeles, Dec 10 (IANS) Actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson had cancer on his cheek, but the “Modern Family” star revealed about his health only after undergoing a procedure to remove the growth.

He played it down on Instagram as he posted a picture of his bandaged cheek and thanked his doctor for removing the cancer, reports aceshowbiz.com.

“Thank you to Dr. Bennett and his entire team for taking the cancer out of my face. Good luck hiding the stitches tomorrow @modernfamily_makeuphair! #youwannaapieceofme #phantommask #spf75,” Ferguson captioned the image.

He didn’t specify what kind of cancer he had, but the hashtag “#spf75”, which referred to sunscreen protection levels, seemed to reveal that it was skin cancer.

Ferguson is not the only Hollywood star battling skin cancer.

Actor Hugh Jackman suffered from a similar problem. The “Prisoners” actor was treated for Basal Cell Carcinoma on his nose.
