Karkala: 17-year-old Anil Pinto Drowns in Jomlu Theertha Waterfalls

Karkala: A 17-year-old boy drowned in the Jomlu Theertha Waterfalls near Belve here, on November 10.

The deceased has been identified as Anil Pinto (17), a native of Koppa, Chikkamagaluru district. He was staying at the Holy Cross Home, Katapadi.

According to the police, on November 10, making use of the Diwali holidays, 28 students from Holy Cross Home Katapadi went on a picnic to Jomlu Theertha Waterfalls. After having fun at the waterfalls, students returned to the bus to proceed further. Before moving further, the tour organizer checked for all the students and found that Anil was missing. They went back to the waterfalls in search of Anil and found his body in the waterfalls.

Anil Pinto’s body was shifted to the hospital for post mortem. Anil was pursuing his education and also preparing to join the seminary in Katapadi.

A case has been registered in the Hebri Police Station.
