Karkala: Advocate Dies as Scorpio Knocks down Scooter – Son Injured

Karkala: Prashant Nemiraj Shetty (52), a resident of Kannadikatte in Nadibettu Padangady of Guruvayanakere and an advocate practising in Beltangady, died in a road mishap at Nallur Parappadi on Sunday.

He was returning home with his son Pradyut (9) riding his scooter after watching a Kambala race in Miyar in Karkala taluk. At Parappady, a Scorpio vehicle knocked his two-wheeler and both the riders were thrown to the road.

Shetty sustained fatal injuries and he died on the way to the hospital. Pradyut is being treated in a hospital.

Prashant Shetty was the son of well-known advocate Nemiraj Shetty. His sister also serves as a judicial officer.

Some time ago, his car had met with an accident. Since then he was using his two-wheeler. A case has been registered at the rural police station here.
