Karkala: Police Cite Court Order and Ward off Protesters at Screening of ‘Dilwale’

Karkala: A fews days ago, ‘Dilwale’, a Shah Rukh Khan starrer, was scheduled to be screened in Movie Planet cinema house. It was stopped after some Bajrang Dal actitivists barged into the premises, tore the flex banners and threatened the exhibitors.

The action was supposedly in protest against certain statements made by Khan regarding lack of tolerance in the country.

The screening at the same venue resumed on Friday under police protection. Some BD activists who were getting ready to protest were sent away by the police. They told them firmly that there was a court order to screen the movie without any hitch.

Although the trouble-makers dispersed, the police would not take any chance. They kept guard and continued their vigil throughout the day.
