Karnataka Colts edge past NCA

Bengaluru, July 30 (IANS) A fighting century by Washington Sundar (153, 302b, 21×4) went in vain as National Cricket Academy (NCA) lost to Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Colts by 35 runs on the fourth day of their match in the All-India cricket tournament here on Thursday.

Chasing a victory target of 374, NCA were all out for 338 despite Sundar’s ton and his 197-run partnership with Aamir Gani (71).

Himachal Pradesh CA overcame Assam CA by five wickets to pick up six points while CA of Bengal drew their match with Tripura CA, Orissa CA crashed to an innings defeat against KSCA XI and Haryana defeated KSCA President’s XI by 137 runs in the other matches.

At Bengaluru (Day 4): Himachal Pradesh CA: 413 and 99 for 5 in 27.1 overs (Nikhil Gangta 34, Bikash Chetri 2-23) beat Assam CA: 228 and 282 all out in 94.1 overs (KB Arun Karthick 59, Rishi Dhawan 2-27, Ankush Bedi 3-81, Akash Vasist 2-32, Nikhil Gangta 2-43) by 5 wickets. Points: Himachal Pradesh CA 6, Assam CA 0.

CA Of Bengal: 288 and 260 for 6 in 90 overs (Sudip Chatterjee 95, Koushik Ghosh 31, Pankaj Shaw 67 not out, Tushar Saha 4-103) drew with Tripura CA: 281. Points:

CA Of Bengal 3, Tripura CA 1.

KSCA Colts: 340 and 196 beat National Cricket Academy: 163 and 338 all out in 99.3 overs (Washington Sundar 153, Aamir Gani 71, SL Akshay 2-35, Mitrakant Yadav 4-89, KC Cariappa 2-60, CA Karthik 2-43) by 35 runs. Points: KSCA Colts 6, National Cricket Academy 0.

Orissa CA: 195 and 265 all out in 108.3 overs (Girija Rout 76, Biplab Samantray 125, Ronit More 2-37, J Suchith 5-55, S Arvind 2-40) lost to KSCA XI: 478 by an innings and 18 runs. Points: KSCA XI 7, Orissa CA 0.

Haryana CA: 377 and 207 beat KSCA President’s XI: 240 and 208 all out in 57.5 overs (Anirudha Joshi 61, David Mathias 35, Abrar Kazi 30 not out, Harshal Patel 5-43, Yuzvendra Chahal 3-55, Amit Rana 2-56) by 137 runs. Points: Haryana CA 6, KSCA President’s XI 0.

At Mysore (Day 3): Tamil Nadu CA: 357 and 76 for 6 in 38 overs (Ravi Jangid 5-36) vs Vidarbha CA: 335 all out in 105.3 overs (Faiz Fazal 51, Ganesh Satish 115, Dharmender Ahlawat 50, DT Chandrasekhar 4-104, M Ashwin 2-49, W Antony Das 4-104).

Gujarat CA: 497 vs Kerala CA: 313 all out in 106 overs (Rohan Prem 37, Sachin Baby 118, Vinoop Manoharan 34, Jaspreet Bumrah 2-58, Axar Patel 5-64, Hardik Patel 2-44) Aand 18 for 1 in 7 overs.
