They were given the ‘deeksha’ anointment. A large number of people from northern Kerala and Karnataka attended the ceremony. Balakrishnan, an insurance official from Echikana Madikai serving in Mangaluru, was also present.

The event was held under the aegis of the Kerala chapter of the Prabuddha Bharat Sangh.

Since it was for the first time that such a switch of faith was taking place in the district. Hence the police provided the venue with tight security.

Intelligence sources said that most of those who converted to Buddhism earlier belonged to Ezhava, Dalit, Mavilan and Yadav communities.

  1. The fact that this didn’t even make it to headlines in India and everything went without a glitch allowing these guys to embrace the faith of their choice is a great testimony to tolerance that thrives in Bharatha. This shows how the recent ‘intolerance’ propaganda by religious bigots in certain minority groups and political parties were absolutely based on lies and dishonesty!! This is the tolerance that Sanaathana dharma has shown for more than 2000 years. Unlike other expansionist religions, sanaathana dharma doesn’t try to punish its followers for being open minded about other truths!! This is why other religions in Bharataha didn’t get wiped out. However, the same thing can’t be said about other religions and societies where all the older religions/faiths were wiped out by invading religions. If you want proof, take a look at Europe or middle east!!

Question for Taqqiyya Expert Shaikh and Pincode Pai:
What’s the punishment for apostasy in Islam? In other words, what would have happened if 500 muslims had converted into Budhism in a Islamic society? smiles…

    • Duplicate Pai – “Question for Pincode Pai: What’s the punishment for apostasy in Islam?”

Duplicate, tell me what is the punishment if a Gujarati deserts his wife after living as husband with her for two years?

  2. Hearty congratulations to those who have embraced Buddhism as their religion of choice. “amidst Tight Security” is the surprising news. So, the converts were under threat from some people, that is the religious freedom of India now?

  3. V have now come to a situation where people making money in Muslim gulf and Christian west are comparing tolerance with reference to gulf n Pakistan. Shows their level. If compared with Europe n U.S. where even cities have converted to Hinduism or Islam n churches converted to temples n mosque. If people are really nature, they should steep to a level to compare with such great developed nations instead of gulf or pal. India grew ALL these years because of tolerance from centuries but will go to figs if it follows doorstep of Pakistan or Arabs. As v sow, so v reap. Look at the intolerant countries where they spewed hatred n r now bleeding to death. Tolerance is very important n also freedom of speech n rights to give away awards until v want to be globally ostracized n our 15% Indians nris or Indians settled abroad to be sent back to the already shortage of jobs n infrastructure India. Think big….be open to grow. Awards does NOT take credibility unless v want it.
