Kasaragod: Month-long Jail, Rs 15,000 Fine in 24-year-old Theft Case

Kasaragod: C H Abdul Hameed of Dandegoli of Kidur in Kumbla in the district had been charged of a theft in a tailoring shop in Kanchikatte near Kumbla.

The theft had taken place on April 2m, 1991. Newly-stitched trousers and shirts had been stolen by him, after climbing on top of the roof and sliding the tiles and gaining access into the shop.

The Kumbla police had filed a charge-sheet against him. He had since been absconding but was arrested in 2014.

A local court has sentenced the accused to undergo a month’s jail and pay a fine of Rs 15,000.
