Kasaragod: Naufal (22) from Manjeshwar Dies in Road Mishap in Sultanate of Oman

Kasaragod: Naufal (22), son of A S Abubaqer of Arimale in Kadambar of Manjeshwar in the district, died in a road mishap in the Sultanate of Oman on Thursday, Oct 8 night.

Family sources said that Naufal had flown to Muscat to take up employment as a car mechanic as recently as Sep 22.


After duty hours, as he was crossing the road to return to his accommodation, a speeding car hit him. Critically injured, he was taken to a nearby hospital. He is said to have died on the way, according to sources in Muscat.

His friends said that being a newcomer he was not familiar with the speeding pattern of traffic in the Gulf countries.

Family sources also said that arrangements were being made to repatriate his mortal remains here. He is survived by parents, three brothers and a sister.
