Kiren Rijiju’s chopper makes emergency landing at Hindon

New Delhi, Feb 9 (IANS) A helicopter carrying Union Minister of State for Home Kiran Rijiju made an emergency landing at the Hindon airbase near Delhi shortly after take-off from Safdarjung airport here on Tuesday, sources said.

“There was some problem with its main gear box… the warning light was on so the chopper pilot made an emergency landing,” an informed source said.

The incident occurred around 12.10 p.m., the source told IANS.

The Border Security Force’s chopper Mi-17 V5 was on way to Tehri Dam in Uttarakhand.
